The thematic section introduced by my illustration is about how young european voters are gradually moving towards the far right, mainly due to disillusionment with traditional parties, and what effects this phenomenon has on the balance of european union politics.
In my illustration I chose to represent the shift in the balance of power through the visual metaphor of a young voter physically shifting the balance to the right.
Art direction: Max Dubiel and Christopher Alessi.
Brief: The illustration should conceptually represent Young European voters, who are turning to the far-right parties driven by frustration with mainstream politics, democratic disenchantment and an appeal to alternative policies.
As always, my work starts translating the client’s brief into quick sketches, trying to find the best graphic solution.
In this case, I tried to focus on the different themes that could be connected to the main issue: the shift to the right of young voters.
Once the AD had identified the most convincing composition, I arrived at the final illustration by going through some colour tests.
