Let's Fly on Lake Garda!

Geografie Illustrate is a cultural project and illustration competition created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Garda Dolomiti – Azienda per il Turismo, the tourism board of Garda Trentino, founded in Riva del Garda in 1926.

The brief was to reinterpret the tradition of twentieth-century travel posters with a contemporary eye.

My poster “Si vola sul Garda” (Let’s fly on Lake Garda) was the winning entry of the competition!

The jury, composed of Riccardo Guasco, Francesco Bongiorni, Andrea Gnesato, Matteo Rapanà and Oskar Schwazer, awarded my poster with the following motivation:

“For the ability to translate the identity of Garda Trentino into an image of great immediacy that is both elegant and
memorable. The composition intelligently creates a vertical reading of the territory, from the mountains to the water,
conveyed through the figure of the mallard and a crisp graphic synthesis. The tradition of the tourism poster is
reinterpreted through a contemporary visual language that combines a recognisable sense of place, iconic strength, and
promotional effectiveness.”

This is the poster I created, depicting Garda Trentino from all angles, from the mountains to the lake, passing through the wonderful cities reflected in it. All this is captured on the wings of a mallard duck, giving the title “Si vola sul Garda” (Let’s Fly on Garda).

The exhibition will open on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the MAG Museo Alto Garda in Riva del Garda.
