Argo is a personal project I created on the theme of the wait.
This illustration was inspired by a glimpse of life that I had the pleasure of witnessing:
It was winter, the first days of the year, and I was walking through a small mountain village when my gaze was drawn to a dog sitting in the sun in front of the door of a villa.
I wondered why he was standing so straight. I thought perhaps he was waiting for someone, maybe his owner, who had gone out and not yet returned.
The atmosphere was perfect for a drawing: the light, the composition, the beautiful decorated door, the dog’s gaze.
And so, when I returned home, I decided to draw my impression of what I had seen.
Only through drawing did I think of the story of Odysseus and Argos, his dog who waited for him for many years on the doorstep.
